Concert and Coffee Morning

We are holding a concert and coffee morning on 14 February to which parents and carers are invited. Each class will perform songs or poems for entertainment. Sadly this will also be a farewell concert to Mrs Skeldon who works in the Nursery.

Mrs Skeldon has been at St. Joseph’s for many years and has been instrumental in helping many children make a good start to their school life. She has also worked with many children with additional needs over the years developing their confidence and skills.

We hope to say a fond goodbye to her on this date and thought the concert would give everyone the chance to come along and say their own goodbye.

SEN Meetings

Currently meetings are being arranged for all children who are on the SEN register. Many people become very concerned by the name SEN. It is basically a list of children who at some time in their school life are deemed to need more support in some aspect of their school life.

For some children it is in a particular subject e.g. maths, for others it is general learning or others a physical disability.

However no child is placed on the register without parents’ knowledge and parents are invited to meetings and discussions about their own child on a regular basis.

Admissions

The Governor Admission committee will be meeting after the half term break. It is really important that parents do apply for places in good time.

At the moment predicted school numbers in Mossley are very high so please ensure you have put your child’s name down for Nursery if you want a place in the next few years.

Thank you for all your help and support this half term.

A parent questionnaire will be coming home shortly and Governors welcome as many responses as possible to help manage the future direction of the school.

Best wishes
